Originally, some products were sold through Shiseido’s official website. Shiseido has since withdrawn from direct sales of Navision, and Iwaki Seiyaku has taken over distribution.

What Are the Effects of “Tranexamic Acid,” an Active Ingredient in Navision?

A key feature of Navision is that it contains an active ingredient called “tranexamic acid.”

Tranexamic acid is one of the amino acids derived from proteins, and it has properties that help suppress bleeding and inflammation as well as ease allergic reactions.

It has been used in medications to reduce inflammation in the throat and nose and to help prevent sneezing caused by allergies, and Shiseido introduced it into quasi-drug cosmetics as well.

Navision can be used on sensitive skin, and when applied to the skin, it may help prevent skin roughness and support a brighter-looking complexion by addressing Pigmented Spots & Melasma.

How Tranexamic Acid Helps Prevent Skin Roughness and Support Skin Brightening

Tranexamic acid works to help prevent skin roughness through two main mechanisms:

• Its anti-inflammatory properties help suppress the production of “plasmin,” a cause of skin roughness
• Its moisturizing properties help maintain skin hydration

Skin roughness is primarily caused by the excessive activation of a blood component called “plasmin,” which has hemostatic properties and can spread from the basal layer throughout the epidermis.

Tranexamic acid contains anti-inflammatory properties that help suppress plasmin production, thereby helping to prevent skin roughness and support a brighter-looking complexion.

The brightening mechanism also involves suppressing the activity of “melanocytes.” Melanocytes are the cells that produce melanin pigment and are associated with the appearance of dark spots and Melasma.

By suppressing melanocyte activity, tranexamic acid helps support a more youthful-looking complexion.

Other Active Ingredients in Navision DR: 4MSK and Stemlan DG

Some Navision DR products contain ingredients called 4MSK and Stemlan DG.

What Is the Difference Between Navision and HAKU? Whether Stemlan DG Is Included

Among popular brightening serum and skincare brands, “HAKU” and “Environ” are often mentioned alongside Navision.

The difference between Navision and HAKU lies in whether the ingredient Stemlan DG is included.

Stemlan DG strongly suppresses the breakdown of “laminin 511,” a component that helps maintain epidermal stem cells, which may contribute to supporting the skin’s regenerative capacity.

HAKU Melanofocus V contains tranexamic acid and 4MSK — the same as Navision — but does not include Stemlan DG.
