What Is Soprano Titanium? — Three Wavelengths Delivered Simultaneously

Soprano Titanium is a medical laser hair removal device that uses the SHR (Super Hair Removal) method, also known as heat accumulation-based hair removal.
This method works by repeatedly delivering low-energy laser pulses at high speed, gradually building up heat in the hair matrix cells and other structures responsible for hair growth.
Conventional laser devices are generally not well-suited for people with darker skin tones due to the risk of burns; however, Soprano Titanium can be used on individuals with darker skin.
In addition, it simultaneously emits three types of laser energy — Nd:YAG, Diode, and Alexandrite — each penetrating to a different depth beneath the skin.
This means that regardless of hair follicle depth or hair thickness, Soprano Titanium can address hair removal across the entire body in a single device.
Five Key Features of Soprano Titanium

Soprano Titanium has five main features:
- Targets the cells responsible for unwanted hair growth
- Minimal discomfort during treatment
- Suitable for those with thick hair or lighter skin tones
- Effective on fine and thin hair
- Lower risk of paradoxical hair stimulation after treatment
Compared to conventional laser hair removal devices, Soprano Titanium is a laser hair removal system that can be used by a broader range of patients.
Read on for details on each feature.
① Targets the cells responsible for unwanted hair growth
Soprano Titanium uses the SHR (heat accumulation) method of hair removal.
The mechanism by which this method disrupts the “bulge region” — the area of cells responsible for hair growth — is as follows:
- Energy is transmitted beneath the skin via melanin, generating heat
- Continuous laser pulses cause heat to accumulate
- The bulge region undergoes thermal denaturation and is disrupted
By firing low-energy laser pulses 10 times per second, heat is built up in the subcutaneous tissue.
This accumulated heat disrupts the bulge region, addressing unwanted hair at the root.
② Minimal discomfort during treatment
Another characteristic of Soprano Titanium is the reduced level of discomfort during treatment.
Some hair removal devices use the “thermal destruction” method, which delivers high-energy laser pulses to damage the dermal papilla. While this can achieve results in a shorter timeframe, the concentrated energy output is associated with a higher level of discomfort — a notable drawback.
Soprano Titanium, by contrast, operates at lower energy levels and covers a broader treatment area. As a result, discomfort during treatment tends to be relatively low.
③ Suitable for those with thick hair or darker skin tones

Soprano Titanium can also be used on patients with thick hair or darker skin tones (※).
Standard medical laser hair removal devices typically work by reacting to the melanin pigment in dark-colored hair and skin, delivering high-energy laser pulses accordingly.
For this reason, individuals with thick hair, darker skin tones, or skin darkened by sun exposure may experience excessive laser reactions, carrying a risk of burns — making conventional devices less suitable for these patients.
Because Soprano Titanium operates at lower energy levels, patients with thick hair or darker skin tones may be able to undergo hair removal treatment with a comparatively lower risk profile.
※ Please note that at our clinic, we are unable to perform treatments on patients with skin tone V or darker (on the Fitzpatrick scale), as there is an elevated risk of burns.
④ Effective on fine and thin hair
Fine hair contains less melanin pigment and is generally more difficult to treat with standard medical laser hair removal.
However, because Soprano Titanium’s SHR method delivers heat throughout the entire hair follicle, it may also be effective on fine hair in areas such as the back and nape of the neck.
⑤ Lower risk of paradoxical hair stimulation after treatment
In rare cases following medical laser hair removal, some patients experience a condition known as paradoxical hair stimulation (or terminal hair conversion), where treated hair becomes thicker or darker.
This occurs when the laser energy is insufficient to fully disrupt the hair-producing cells, and the stimulation from the laser actually activates those cells instead. Fine hair, in particular, tends to absorb laser energy less efficiently and may be more prone to this response.
Since Soprano Titanium is designed to address all hair types, including fine hair, the risk of paradoxical hair stimulation is considered to be comparatively lower.
How Does Soprano Titanium Compare to Conventional Medical Laser Hair Removal?

The following table outlines the differences between Soprano Titanium and conventional medical laser hair removal devices.
| Soprano Titanium | Conventional Medical Laser Devices | |
|---|---|---|
| Skin burden | Low | Comparatively higher |
| Discomfort / Burns | Lower risk | Risk present |
| Fine / thin hair | Hair removal effect expected | Hair removal effect less likely |
| Skin tone | Skin tone less of a limiting factor | Not suitable for darker or sun-tanned skin |
| Treatment evenness | More consistent results | May vary depending on the practitioner |
Compared to conventional medical laser hair removal devices, Soprano Titanium places less burden on the skin and, regardless of skin tone, may offer hair removal benefits across a wider range of cases.
Will Hair Fall Out Right Away? — Hair May Shed Gradually After Treatment
After a Soprano Titanium treatment session, hair may not fall out immediately.
Whether hair sheds right away varies from person to person — some patients begin to notice gradual hair loss approximately 2 to 3 weeks after treatment.
Even if hair does not shed right away, most patients report noticing a hair removal effect by continuing with their scheduled sessions.
Number of Sessions and Treatment Intervals

Medical laser hair removal requires repeated treatment sessions aligned with the hair growth cycle.
The hair growth cycle refers to the natural cycle of hair growth, rest, and shedding — hair grows over the course of several months before falling out and regrowing.
The recommended number of Soprano Titanium sessions is approximately 3 to 7. Results vary by individual, but many patients find that day-to-day hair maintenance becomes easier after around 3 sessions, and that little to no maintenance is needed after approximately 6 sessions.
The recommended interval between sessions is 6 to 8 weeks, and a course of treatment typically spans a minimum of 3 months.
Is There Any Discomfort? — 3 Things to Know Before Your Treatment
There are three things to keep in mind before undergoing Soprano Titanium hair removal:
- Some level of discomfort may be experienced
- Avoid sun exposure before treatment
- Shave the treatment area beforehand using a razor or similar method
While Soprano Titanium is associated with relatively low discomfort, some degree of sensation during treatment is unavoidable.
Although Soprano Titanium can be used even on sun-tanned skin, it is important to avoid sun exposure before treatment in order to minimize potential risks as much as possible.
Additionally, shaving the treatment area prior to your session can help further reduce the risk of burns and similar concerns.
Soprano Titanium Is Well-Suited for Full-Body and VIO Hair Removal

Since Soprano Titanium can be used on all body areas, it is well-suited for full-body hair removal.
In addition, because discomfort is comparatively low, it is also a suitable option for VIO hair removal, which is known to be one of the more sensitive areas to treat.
At our clinic, we offer not only full-body courses, but also a variety of course options tailored to each patient’s needs — including full-body plans with VIO added, as well as area-specific courses.
